Agenda:
Opener: Latest U.S. News
We had our usual lively chitchat of news from the political scene in the USA, with concentration on what we think of the Democratic contenders and their performance in the campaign to date.
Primary voting:
We discussed the options members will have this year to vote in the Democratic primary. In Sydney we will be having a polling station where members can vote in person. You can also vote on line with DA, or you can vote absentee through your home state. Votes cast through DAA will filter up through DA International via caucuses at a Regional level. DAA will be in a position to send representatives to the Regional caucus.
Member Report:
Judy reported on the database clean up currently in progress. Les, Paul and Lissa volunteered to assist by making phone calls to verify member details.
Announcements:
1. Thanksgiving will be celebrated at Mulligan’s Restaurant on Cleveland Street with a cost to members of $75. Date: Thursday 22 November. Time: 7 P.M. Only 50 seats are available. Details are on the web site.
2. The Book Club is reading The American Soul by Jacob Needleman and will meet to discuss the book at the Broadway Cafe at 10:30 A.M. on Sunday October 14.
