About Democrats Abroad Australia

Democrats Abroad Australia is the official wing of America's Democratic Party for U.S. citizens living in Australia. We support programs and events for Americans living abroad, including:

Supporting voter registration and absentee ballot requests for overseas Americans;
Providing candidate information and news about U.S. elections;
Hosting events and forums to promote public interest in good government, accountability, and civic responsibility; and
Taking action to uphold America's Democratic principles, both here in Australia and at home in the USA.

Americans in Australia have a special opportunity to see how another country solves issues we have in common, a chance to observe how our foreign policies affect the rest of the world, and a new appreciation of the United States and of how we're perceived abroad. Democrats Abroad is your opportunity to share that knowledge with our elected leaders, to tell them what works and what doesn't, and to help change America for the better.

The Democratic Party stands for the ideals and principles that America stands for: Freedom, justice, equality, democracy, and good, open, honest, accountable government. We're people who think our nation's current leaders have taken our country too far to the right, and they've gone too far in their reckless pursuit of power and privilege at all costs. By working together we can put an end to their assault on democracy from within, and elect honest, accountable leaders who protect our freedoms and liberties.

You can help Democrats Abroad in Australia by reaching out to your fellow Americans at home and abroad, keeping them well-informed about the candidates and the issues, and supporting our voter registration and absentee ballot drives here in Australia. The more people know about the parties and their agendas, the more likely they are to vote for the Democrats; with the 2000 and 2004 elections as close as they were, your time and effort could make the difference.
